Still no Java 1.6 on Mac OS X Leopard

Julian Doherty

Leopard is out, and most development based news sites are abuzz with the scandal that OS X still doesn’t support Java 1.6

Don’t have much to add to the flames, except to say I called it.

Jobs lied and stole from his close partner Wozniak, why is everyone so surprised they have been robbed on Java 6.

The spotty cat is a great OS but how do you guys put up with the arrogance of Apple.

I think this morning I might go download the Java 7 snapshot :-)

The arrogance hurts, but the hardware is nice, and there are lots of pretty flashy things going on.

Just noticed that in Leopard, the /Library/Internet Plug-ins/JavaPluginCocoa.bundle has version “12.0.0 (for JSE 6.0) …”, so perhaps there’s hope for a near-term release of a non-beta JDK.
